Initial Profile Submission (Verification)
A Tradesperson's Profile Picture is one of the most important means of authentication within Trades Wallet, used to confirm that the Trades Wallet profile presented belongs to the Tradesperson in question.
In order to verify a Trades Wallet profile picture submitted from the mobile 'Self Service' app, the initial submission will require the Wallet holder to also upload a valid piece of 'Government ID' (i.e. a Drivers License).
The ID submitted is used by an administrator to verify the identity against a piece of ID that only the Wallet Holder would have. Once verified, the ID will be removed from the system.
NOTE: The type of ID required is determined by the Union or organization who owns your Trades Wallet. Please contact your Union or organization Administrator for more information.
- Navigate to the 'Submissions' page and select an entry from the list of results returned:
NOTE: For more information on how to 'Access Your Pending Submissions', click here. - Select 'Profile Picture' from the list of submissions:
- Because this is the FIRST submission from the Self Service app, you will be presented with the 'Submitted Photo ID', used to verify the 'Proposed New Profile Photo':
Masked Details:
When uploading images via the Self Service app, the Tradesperson is in complete control of how much information they share with the Trades Wallet Community.
Tradespeople may choose to 'Mask' (or redact) details that they deem sensitive or private during the submission process from the Self Service app (i.e. the address listed on their Government Issued ID).
For more information on 'Masked Details', click here.
NOTE: While 'Masking' is intended to allow Tradespeople to hide sensitive details, there must be enough relevant information displayed for you to confirm the ID (i.e. Full Name and ID Image must be clear). - Next, use the 'Submitted Photo ID' (Government ID) to compare against the 'Proposed New Profile Picture':
- If you can confidently corroborate the two images, select the (green) 'Approve' button:
NOTE: Subsequent Profile Picture updates from within the 'Self Service' app will utilize the 'Current Profile Photo' to compare against the 'Proposed New Profile Photo' and will no longer require validation against a piece of Government ID. - However, if after reviewing the 'Government ID', you are unable to confirm that the submission came from the right person, you should 'Reject' the submission.
Select the (red) 'Reject' button:
Rejected Submissions:
If either a submitted 'Profile Picture' or 'New Card' submission does not meet the parameters for approval (i.e. picture is not clear, more than one identifiable person within Profile Picture etc.), the submission should be 'Rejected.'
Rejected submissions will not be added to the relevant Trades Wallet. Instead, the Wallet holder will be notified of the status of their submission from the 'Submissions' tab of the Wallet.
For more information on 'Rejected Submissions', click here.
Profile Picture Update
Once a Tradesperson has completed their 'Verification' Profile Picture, subsequent Profile Picture updates will no longer require validation against a piece of Government ID.
Instead, an administrator will utilize the 'Current Profile Photo' to compare against the 'Proposed New Profile Photo':
Resetting a Profile Picture
Should you need to reset a 'Profile Picture' for any reason, such that the image reverts to the default 'blank silhouette', necessitating the Tradesperson re-submit their profile picture and government ID via the Self Service application, this can be accomplished from within the 'Account Details' for the relevant Wallet.
For more information about resetting a Profile Picture, click here.
