If you experience a “Something went wrong” error when navigating to the Field Scanner application from your Chrome browser, it may be that your device’s camera is not accessible due to your browser settings.
To review and update your camera settings, follow the steps below:
Enabling camera access on Android (5.0 and newer)
- Launch the Google Chrome app
- Tap Settings (3 dots upper right)
- Select Advanced
- Select Site Settings
- Tap on Camera or microphone
- Toggle the Camera or microphone switch to
Please note, you may need to restart the camera from within the app.
Reset Camera within the App:
- Within the Google Chrome app, navigate to “updatemywallet.com”
- Select the Camera Flip button located in the upper left-hand corner of the web-app. This should restart the camera.
If you are still having trouble accessing the camera functionality, you may want to consider clearing your Cache and rebooting your device:
Clear Cache:
- Launch the Google Chrome app
- Tap Settings (3 dots upper right)
- Select Privacy
- Tap on the blue Clear Browsing Data button
- Select the check box associated to Cache
- Select the Clear button
Shutdown Chrome:
- Launch the Google Chrome app
- To the right of the address bar, tap Switch Tabs. You should see all your open Chrome tab(s)
- You can either Swipe or select the Close button in the upper right corner to close the tab(s)
Reboot your device:
- Press and hold your Android device’s Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, or until the screen shuts down.
- Release the buttons when you see the screen lighting up again.
Please note, on some Android devices you may need to hold down both the Volume buttons in conjunction with the Power button.
