The following details the *new* functionality that will be available within Trades Wallet effective May 20, 2019:
(1) Wallet Holder - Verified Email Address
When creating a new Wallet profile, the 'Email Address' field is optional. However, having an email address associated to a Trades Wallet profile provides the Wallet holder with significant functionality for managing the contents of their Trades Wallet.
Trades Wallet has now introduced the ability for a Wallet holder to add, update and 'Verify' the email address associated to their Trades Wallet profile directly from the Self Service app.
Benefits of a Verified Email?
Having a 'Verified' email address associated to a Trades Wallet profile provides the Wallet holder with additional security when 'Signing In' to the Self Service application and unlocks additional functionality for managing cards within their Wallet:
Increased Security:
With a 'Verified' email address established, a Wallet holder will be prompted to confirm their identity via email during the 'Sign In' process. This verification will ensure that they, and only they, are able to view the contents of their Trades Wallet from the Self Service app.
Additional Functionality:
Having a 'Verified' email address also enables a Wallet holder to have more control over the information they share with the Trades Wallet Community, including the ability to upload 'Private' cards.
NOTE: Once an email address has been verified via the Self Service app it can no longer be edited via the Web Admin portal. Any changes to the address will need to be made by the Wallet holder via the Self Service app.
(2) Privacy and Trades Wallet
Wallet holders are in complete control of the information they choose to share with the Trades Wallet Community:
Masked Images:
If a Wallet holder deems the information contained within a relevant submission 'sensitive', or private' (the address listed on the Government ID, for example), they may wish to 'Mask', or redact, these details during the submission process.
When processing the approval of a submission containing 'Masked' details, keep in mind that there must still be enough information visible for you to approve the entry.
NOTE: If a Wallet holder has 'Signed In' to the Self Service app using their 'Verified' credentials, they will also have the ability to 'Mask' portions of their existing cards.
Private Cards:
Alternatively, a Wallet holder may wish to keep a card or certification completely 'Private'.
A new 'Private' card submission will never be shared with the Trades Wallet community and will only be visible to the Wallet holder via the 'Cards' tab of their Self Service profile.
If a Wallet holder chooses to mark an existing card within their Wallet as 'Private', this entry will immediately be removed from the 'Cards' listing of the relevant Wallet, but will be captured within the 'Vault' for historical purposes.
NOTE: A Wallet holder must be 'Signed In' using their 'Verified' credentials in order to create a 'Private' card. Once a Card has been marked 'Private' it cannot be unmarked. To share a 'Private' card will require the Card to be re-submitted as a 'Public' card.
(3) Introducing 'The Vault'
Employers who wish to maintain their own records of the cards and credentials that are actively managed within an employee’s Trades Wallet can utilize the functionality of the Trades Wallet ‘Vault’.
The ‘Vault’ is an online repository that is unique to your Union or organization. The contents of any Wallets that have been saved to your 'Vault' will be securely stored within the Trades Wallet database, in perpetuity, and can be reviewed and/or exported as needed for use with your existing processes and procedures.
Saving the contents of a Trades Wallet to your 'Vault' can be achieved a few ways:
Field Scanner app:
Each time a Wallet holders 'QR Code' is scanned by an administrator, from your organization, using the 'Field Scanner' app, the contents of the relevant wallet will automatically be captured within your ‘Vault’.
Web Admin Portal:
An administrator can save the contents of a Wallet to their 'Vault' directly from the 'Cards' tab of the relevant Wallet. Simply select the 'Save to Vault' button and the current contents will be captured and saved.
Self Service app:
If a Wallet holder belonging to your Union or organization chooses to mark an existing card within their Wallet as 'Private', that Card will be immediately removed from the main 'Cards' listing within the Web Admin portal. However, as the relevant card was previously 'Public', a copy of the 'Public' card will be automatically captured within your Vault for historical purposes.
Accessing 'The Vault'
The contents of your 'Vault' can be accessed 24/7 from within the 'Reports' tab of the Web Admin Portal. From here, you can search the system on the most recent entries, or query the results of a specific date or date range.
From within the 'Vault' an admin can generate a pdf export containing the relevant details pertaining to the cards that were actively managed within the Wallet at the time of capture. This report can be as needed for use with your existing processes and procedures.
(4) Site Compliancy
'Site Compliancy' within Trades Wallet enables your organization to determine, at a glance, whether the employees working on your various work 'Site(s)' meet the 'Mandatory Card' requirements established for the relevant site(s).
Using the 'Site Compliancy' functionality within Trades Wallet, an administrator can review historical records, or search future dates to know in advance who has, and more importantly, who does not have what they need to be compliant for the job they have been assigned within your organization.
'Site Compliancy' is tracked within Trades Wallet a couple of ways:
Scheduled Status
When a 'Pre-Qualification' record has been created against a relevant Wallet, that record will be tracked within the 'Scheduled Status' section of the 'Site Compliancy' report.
A 'Pre-Qualification' record is intended as a means of reviewing and approving a Wallet holders credentials in advance of their arrival on a job-site. You can set up a 'Pre-Qualification' record for your own organization, or create on on behalf of a 'Trusted' member of the Trades Wallet community.

Scan Status
Each time a Wallets 'QR Code' is scanned by an administrator signed in to the Field Scanner app, the contents of the Wallet will be automatically compared against the 'Site' requirements that have been deemed as mandatory for that site. The results of each scan will be presented within the 'Scan Status' section of the 'Site Compliancy' report.
Using the Field Scanner app, the admin can immediately know who has, and more importantly who does not have, what is needed to be compliant with the requirements of the relevant site.
